Dear Maharana Sangram Singh (Rana Sanga),

On behalf of the 140 crore citizens of India, we extend our heartfelt apologies for this grave insult to your legacy. Your name stands as a towering symbol of resilience, patriotism, and sacrifice, and it is our solemn duty to uphold the honor you so rightfully earned.

Rana Sanga, you were not just a king of Mewar but a guardian of our civilizational ethos. At a time when the subcontinent was fraught with invasions and internal strife, you rose as a beacon of hope and unity. Your vision was not limited to defending a mere kingdom; you fought to preserve the Sanatan Dharma, our ancient traditions, and the cultural heritage of Bharat.

The Battle of Khanwa in 1527 remains etched in the annals of history as a testament to your courage. Knowing the might of Babur’s army, equipped with advanced artillery, you did not waver. Instead, you rallied an alliance of Rajput chieftains and fought with unparalleled bravery. Even though fate did not grant victory on that fateful day, your resistance sent a resounding message that Bharat was not to be conquered without consequence.

Your sacrifices went beyond the battlefield. You bore grievous injuries, losing an eye, an arm, and countless scars that bore witness to your relentless spirit. Despite your physical afflictions, you stood tall, unwavering in your resolve. Your commitment to unity among the Rajput clans, seeking alliances for the greater good of the civilization, was an act of true statesmanship. You understood that the strength of Bharat lay in its unity, and you did everything in your power to forge that unity.

Furthermore, you upheld the ideals of dharma and righteousness. While the invaders brought destruction, you led with honor and integrity. The code of ethics you followed on the battlefield exemplified the values that define our civilization. In contrast to the treachery and deceit of foreign rulers, you fought with dignity, respecting the principles of just warfare.

It is essential to recognize that historical narratives are often twisted to serve political agendas. The labeling of you as a traitor is not only a distortion of facts but also a betrayal of our collective memory. You were no traitor, Rana Sanga. You were a guardian of Bharat’s soul. It is due to your sacrifices and those of countless warriors like you that our civilization endured through centuries of turmoil.

The people of India today stand on the foundation you safeguarded. Our temples, scriptures, languages, and traditions owe their survival to the bravery of protectors like you. The strength of our cultural identity, which continues to flourish, is your true legacy.

We promise to honor your memory by educating future generations about your valor. Our textbooks and narratives must reflect the truth of your contributions. Statues, memorials, and cultural programs should celebrate your life and sacrifices. Schools and universities must ensure that your story inspires every young Indian to stand for truth and justice.

Additionally, we urge our leaders to exercise caution and responsibility when speaking about our ancestors. Words, once spoken, cannot be undone. Our nation’s strength lies in respecting and cherishing our past, not in distorting it for momentary gains.
